Last night I went out into my new neighborhood to find something to eat.  I happened upon a small wagon on the street with a small crowd around it.  One of the fellows there allowed me to try his cup of Styrofoam filled with some mystery substance.  It would seem I've happened upon Elotes- although, they told me to pronounce what I had as skeete. 

Essentially, this snack comes in two forms- on the cob or in a cup.  Basically, if it is on the cob, you take a boiled cob of corn, slather it in mayonnaise, cover it in parmesan cheese, crush a lime on top, and then cover it in hot chili pepper.  If served in a cup, they slice the corn off the cob first, and then put all the ingredients in a cup for you to eat as a sort of soup.

 I’m still pretty sure I think it is absolutely disgusting- but I’m happy I tried it at least once.
